New Delhi, June 22: While Rahul Gandhi and the assorted lobby continue to criticize the COWIN portal, the rest of the world has noticed it and shown their interest in the India-made Covid Vaccination portal. As many as 20 countries from across the world including UAE, Vietnam, Peru, Mexico, have shown their interest in adopting the CoWIN to run their COVID-19 immunization campaigns in their respective country.
There are also some reports that the Health Ministry along with External Affairs Ministry and National Health Authority will organize a virtual CoWIN Global Conclave on 30 June. It is expected to be attended by health and technology experts from across the world.
According to the information countries like UAE, Vietnam, Peru, Mexico, Iraq, Dominican Republic, Panama, Ukraine, Nigeria, and others have shown interest in adopting India's CoWIN portal
Talking about the same, CoWIN Chairman Dr. R S Sharma, said several countries have expressed interest in the Co-WIN platform, which is being used to run the world's largest Covid vaccination program. He said, "At a global conclave, India will share its experience with regards to universal vaccination to fight COVID-19 through the digital platform. India developed Co-WIN as the central IT system for strategising, implementing, monitoring and evaluating Covid vaccination."
Co-WIN, a cloud-based IT platform. It was launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) for real-time monitoring of the Covid-19 Vaccine. It allows Indian citizens to apply for a Covid-19 vaccine shot. This app enables monitoring the inoculation drive and tracking the listed beneficiaries for vaccination on a real-time basis.
