ludhiana, May 11: The COVID vaccination drive for 18+ aged people in India has already begun and according to the Ministry of Health, blood donation within 45-60 days of vaccination is not advisable. Considering this, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers in Punjab's Ludhiana city have chosen to donate blood before getting vaccinated.
It is through Seva Bharati that these young RSS volunteers are also encouraging the society to donate the blood for society. A camp at the Handicapped Support Center of the Bharat Vikas Parishad has been set up in collaboration with the doctors and medical staff of DMC Hospital. While all the volunteers donated the blood, people from all castes, classes participated in the camp taking the total number to 65.
"There are thousands of children all over the country who need constant blood. In the Corona era, people are afraid of donating blood. On the other hand, doctors are also advising not to donate blood for a few days after consuming the Corona vaccine. In such a situation, thalassemic children may have to face anemia", said Ludhiana Vibhag Pramukh Dalbir Nanda adding that they would try increase number of such camps.
For decades considered to be working behind thick veils of alacrity and strong will to serve the nation, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has lately found itself more in the centre of public attention. While all of the liberals, pseudo-secularists and leftists are resting in their houses, RSS is on ground to coordinate with the govt. The selfless work of RSS volunteers during natural disaster is unparalleled. What is more admirable is that they do not discriminate based on caste creed or religion. Newsbharati salutes RSS seva amid COVID outbreak!
