New Delhi, Apr 6: The Minister of State for Education, Sanjay Dhotre is to attend consultation meeting of Education Ministers of the E9 countries. The consultation meeting will be regarding the E9 initiative of 'Scaling up digital learning to accelerate progress towards SDG4' and is schduled to be held on Apr 6.
According to the Ministry of Education, the consultation is first of a three-phased process to co-create an initiative on digital learning and skills, targeting marginalized children and youth, especially girls. The consultation will also highlight progress and share lessons learned regarding challenges on digital learning and skills.

The E9 initiative aims to accelerate recovery and advance the 'Sustainable Development Goal 4' agenda by driving rapid change in the education systems in three of the 2020 Global Education Meeting priorities that are to support teachers, investment in skills, and narrowing of the digital divide.
Building on the established partnership of E9 countries allows Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria and Pakistan the opportunity to benefit from UN's global initiative and accelerate progress on digital learning and skills towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4 of Quality Education.
According to UNESCO, the meeting will feature the participation of the UN Deputy Secretary-General, UNESCO, UNICEF, Generation Unlimited, the Malala Fund, the World Bank and a number of stakeholder representatives including from the private sector partners of the Global Education Coalition.
