New Delhi, April 30: Renowned TV journalist Rohit Sardana succumbed to the deadly COVID-19 infection on Friday. Zee News Editor-in-Chief Sudhir Chaudhary informed about his untimely demise through a tweet. "I am shocked. I was not ready for this", said Chaudhary on social media.
The untimely and shocking demise of Rohit Sardana, who had a long and very successful association with journalism, has left the media world in a state of utter shock. Chaudhary further added that he had never thought that virus would take away his close ally. "I could not digest the news. I was shivering", he added.
Meanwhile, Rahul Kanwal from Aajtak also tweeted, "Rohit Sardana was the sharpest young anchor I have met. Superb command over Hindi, brilliant with his turn of the phrase, precise questions, clear in his thinking, loved by the masses, warm and humble off the screen, he was destined for great things. Our newsroom is in deep shock"
He had hosted the popular 'Taal Thok Ke', a debate programme that discusses contemporary issues in India on Zee News. Sardana left Zee News to join Aaj Tak in 2017 and, since then, he was hosting the debate show ''Dangal.'' He was a recipient of the 2018 Ganesh Vidyarthi Puraskar Award. He was among the most popular faces of TV news journalism in India.
