Grocery shops to operate only for 4 hours every day in Maharashtra

Mumbai, April 20: With people continuing to the crowd and roam, the Maharashtra government has decided to restrict timings of grocery shops. Now, grocery shops in the state will only remain open from 7 am to 11 am. This comes as many citizens are found roaming around in the name of grocery purchase even after strict restrictions imposed.

In a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, the decision about limiting grocery shop timings was taken. "We need to stop people from moving around without any reason," Health Minister Rajesh Tope told media persons after the meeting.
 
 
"For that, a decision has been taken to allow grocery shops to remain open for only four hours so that people do not roam around throughout the day in the name of buying groceries," he added.

Relief and rehabilitation minister Vijay Wadettiwar also told media persons that CM Uddhav Thackeray will take a final call on complete lockdown in the next two days.
 
Meanwhile, in order to increase oxygen availability, the state government has instructed all the district administrations to establish oxygen production plants.

As of Monday late night reports, newly 58,924 patients have been tested as positive in the state. Also newly 52,412 patients have been cured today. Totally 31,59,240 patients are cured & discharged from the hospitals while total Active patients are 6,76,520. The patient recovery rate in the state is 81.04%.
