New Delhi, April 02: With four days to go for assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, the Income Tax department on Friday swooped on DMK chief M K Stalin's daughter's house in Neelankarai. It is one of the four premises owned by Stalin's son-in-law Sabareesan. The raids were conducted as a large number of DMK cadres thronged in from Senthamarai's house in Neelankarai.

Among the premises searched by taxmen was a home in Neelangarai, just outside Chennai, where Stalin's daughter Senthamarai lives with Sabareesan. Tax department sources told to a news agency that there were inputs on the movement of cash related to the election campaign. Locations linked to the associates of Sabareesan, Karthik and Bala, were also searched. Karthik is the son of the DMK candidate from Annanagar, Mohan.

Sabareesan is seen as a key strategist in Stalin's core team as the DMK challenges Tamil Nadu's ruling AIADMK in the state polls. The DMK chief said people would "give a clear verdict on April 6 for this miscalculation. I am MK Stalin. This Stalin has faced Emergency and MISA. I won't be scared because of these IT Raids. PM Modi should know that we aren't AIADMK leaders," said Stalin on the searches at his daughter's home, referring to a controversial law used by the then Congress government during the Emergency to crack down on politicians.
