Pune, April 2: The Pune authorities have imposed a 12-hour night curfew in the city starting Saturday. The night curfew in Pune will start at 6 pm and continue till 6 am and the coronavirus situation will be monitored till next Friday for further steps.
Pune district in Maharashtra reported 8,011 new coronavirus cases and 65 deaths on Thursday while the state reported over 43,000 cases. Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao announced on Friday, "Bars, hotels, restaurants to remain closed for 7 days, only home delivery will be allowed. No public function, except funerals&weddings, will be allowed; max 20 people in funerals& 50 in weddings. Order to come into effect from tomorrow."

Further, he added, "A 12-hour night curfew from 6 pm to 6 am in Pune from tomorrow, 3rd April. The situation will be reviewed next Friday. Religious places will be completely closed for the next 7 days."
Pune has also ordered bars, hotels and restaurants to remain closed for 7 days and only home deliveries will be allowed. No public function, except funerals and weddings will be allowed in Pune in this 7-day period.

Moreover, the maximum number of people allowed at funerals in Pune has been restricted to 20 and 50 in case of weddings. The order will come into effect from Saturday, said the Pune Divisional Commissioner.
The Pune authorities have also ordered all public places, cinemas and theatres to remain shut for the next 7 days. Hotels, restaurants and bars to remain closed in Pune for the next 7 days. City buses will also remain suspended for the next 7 days.
