NIA court sends 10-year imprisonment to LeT terrorist for conspiring to attack India

New Delhi, April 01: Taking action against the terrorist, NIA special court sentenced 10 years of imprisonment to the Pakistani Laskar-e Taiba (LeT) terrorist for conspiring to carry out terrorist attacks in India.

During the hearing Patiala House Court convicted Pakistani LeT terrorists under the various sections of the IPC the Unlawful Activities Act, the arms act the Explosives Act, the Explosive Substances Act, the Foreigners Act, and the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act.

It should be noted that NIA has registered the case against the terrorist in 2016. In the case NIA stated that pertains to a larger conspiracy hatched by the LeT, a proscribed terrorist organisation based in Pakistan, to commit terror attacks in India.
 
 
As per the NIA statement, Ali along with his two associates, Abu Saad and Abu Darda -- all trained terrorists of the LeT -- had infiltrated into Jammu and Kashmir to carry out terrorist attacks at different places in India as per the instructions by their LeT handlers based in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Ali was arrested from Kupwara. He was arrested with a large number of arms such as an AK-47 rifle, Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), ammunition, hand grenades, UBGL shells, military map, wireless set, GPS, compass, Indian currency. During the investigation, NIA said that he revealed details about the various LeT training camps and other details about the launchpads in POK. The NIA had filed a charge sheet against Ali in January 2017.
