Thiruvananthpuram, March 04: Ahead of the Kerala assembly election, BJP constituted a 16 member state election committee including the 'Metroman' E Sreedharan. The committee is formed under the guidance of the party's national president J P Nadda.
BJP state president K Surendran said in a statement that the committee was constituted with the permission of the party's national president J P Nadda.
The committee, which has been constituted with the permission of party president J P Nadda, also constitutes Union minister V Muraleedharan, BJP national vice president A P Abdullakutty, former state presidents Kummanam Rajasekharan, O Rajagopal MLA, C K Padmanabhan, and PK Krishnadas are the prominent members of the committee. However, senior leader and state vice president Shobha Surendran's name was missing from the list.
The panel also has some special invitees, including the party's in-charge C P Radhakrishnan and his deputy Sunil Kumar. The election for 140-member Kerala Assembly will be held on April 6 while the counting of votes will be held on May 2.
Metro Man E Sreedharan has joined the BJP. on 26 February. The engineer retired as chief of the Delhi Metro in 2011. He was also involved in other metro projects in the country such as Jaipur, Lucknow, and Kochi.
