Shaheed Bhagat Singh Smarak inaugurated; Commemorating 90 years of martyrdom

New Delhi, Mar 24: Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ inaugurated the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Smarak at New Delhi, in the campus of Delhi University on Shaheed Diwas celebrated on Mar 23. The Education Minister also paid homage to Bhagat Singh in the chamber located in the basement of Viceregal Lodge of Delhi University.

 

 

The basement of Viceregal Lodge of Delhi University is where Bhagat Singh was imprisoned. In order to commemorate the 90 years of martyrdom of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, the University had organized the program. On the occasion, an existing collection of books on freedom fighters which has been converted into 'Shaheed Smriti Pustakalaya' was also made available for the students and teachers of Delhi University.

 

 

Bhagat Singh Smarak will remain open for the students and university community to instill the values of freedom and sacrifice.
