Mumbai, March 23: This is what happens when you poor defend or throw lie in the public domain, then whatever may be the reasons- no proper briefing or poor understanding. In yet another attack on Sharad Pawar for rescuing Anil Deshmukh yesterday, Maharashtra BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said that Sharad Pawar was not briefed properly.
"As per police records of VIP movement, Anil Deshmukh went to Sahyadri Guest House on Feb 17 and Mantralaya on Feb 24. He was in home quarantine from Feb 15-27 but met officers, wasn't in isolation. I feel Pawar Sahab wasn't briefed properly yesterday", he said in a press meet.
He has further sought time from Union Home Secretary to meet him and hand him over 6.3 GB of data of call recordings and some documents pertaining to alleged transfer posting racket of IPS and non-IPS officers of Maharashtra Police.
In a series of tweets yesterday, Pawar refuted former Mumbai CP Parambir Singh’s allegations that controversial cop Sachin Vaze had met Deshmukh in mid-February at his residence. Pawar asserted that since Deshmukh was in Nagpur, he could not meet Vaze in Mumbai at that time. "Former CP has mentioned that around mid-February HM called Sachin Waze at his official residence and gave instructions to him as alleged in the letter. But It is absolutely clear that Shri Deshmukh was in Nagpur and home isolated during that particular time", he tweeted.
Except, just hours later he got fact-checked by none other than Deshmukh who revealed that he was indeed in Mumbai and had taken a private plane from Nagpur, even when he was to be on home quarantine. He released the statement through a video on Twitter where he can be seen saying that he got discharged from the hospital on February 15 in Nagpur and immediately left for Mumbai with required permissions to get into home quarantine as per government guidelines. He then claims he was in complete home quarantine since then till the February 27.
The Bharatiya Janata Party's media head also meanwhile revealed a document that clearly shows Deshmukh traveled to Mumbai in a private plane. As per the document, seven other people along with Deshmukh had travelled on the plane. The document has done anything but raised multiple questions and has thrown NCP Chief Sharad Pawar and Home Minister Anil Deshmukh’s claims out of the window where they insisted Anil was in home quarantine from February 15 to 27.
