Gadkari inaugurates technology centers in Andhra, MP to boost the MSME sector

New Delhi, March 11: Giving the major push to the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, sector (MSME), Union minister MSME Nitin Gadkari inaugurated two technology centers at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh.

Apart from this also inaugurated three extension centers of big technological centers and seven mobile Udyam Express.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Gadkari said the technological centers should have coordination, cooperation, and communication with the local industries, and also emphasised the need to have a performance audit of all the technological and extension centers. Gadkari also underlined the need for integrated thinking and exhorted all stakeholders to come together, think together, and work together.
 
Talking about the Indian automobile sector, he added, "the target is to make Indian automobile industry worth Rs 10 lakh crore rupees in next five years from present Rs 4,50,000 lakh crore rupees".
 
Besides, Minister of State for MSME, Pratap Chandra Sarangi said that “around 2,50,000 students are getting training at these centers and the tool room works from normal designing to the area of robotics”. Talking about the mobile Udyam Express, he said that “these mobile vans will go to the villages and make people aware about all aspects of entrepreneurship along with imparting training to them”. He said these vans will help people know everything about MSMEs.
 
 
 
 
The MSME has rolled out the Technology Centres Systems Programme to develop the competitiveness ecosystems of MSME in the country. These Technology Centres will train more than 16 thousand students annually and have the infrastructure for training and production. Gadkari also launched the 7 Udyan Express Mobile Vans intending to provide assistance to MSME in remote areas and also make aware the youth of rural areas about government's schemes.
 
It is estimated that after the establishment of the new TCs/ECs, an additional capacity of skilling four lakh trainees and assisting one lakh MSMEs will be created to provide technology, incubation, skilling and advisory support to the Industry in the country, enabling increased competitiveness of the MSMEs, creation of new MSMEs and enhancement in the employability of the employed/unemployed youth in the country.
