'Source of inspiration': PM Modi releases 11 volumes of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita

New Delhi, March 09: Calling it as the source of inspiration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday released 11 volumes of manuscripts with commentaries by 21 scholars on Srimad Bhagavad Gita shlokas. The manuscript, published by Dharmarth Trust, is written with extraordinary variety and nuance of Indian calligraphy ranging from Shankar Bhashya to Bhasanuvada. Singh is the chairman trustee of Dharmarth Trust, Jammu, and Kashmir.

 

 

Speaking on the occasion, PM Modi mentioned that Gita is also a symbol of India's ideological independence and tolerance, which motivates every person to have his/her viewpoint. He added that from the Mahabharata to the freedom struggle, Gita has guided our nation at every point.

 

 

 

PM Modi also asserted that Bhagavad Gita had influenced the freedom fighters. He said, "Srimad Bhagavadgita is the source of our inspiration and, as India is completing the 75th year of its independence, we should acknowledge how Srimad Bhagwatgita inspired all our freedom fighters during the freedom struggle."

 

He added, Gita was a beacon in Mahatma Gandhi's most difficult times. The Gita has been the inspiration of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's patriotism and valor. This is the Gita, which was explained by Bal Gangadhar Tilak and gave new strength to the freedom struggle.

 

 

 

 

"Adi Shankaracharya, who tied India in the thread of unity, saw the Gita as spiritual consciousness. Saints like Ramanujacharya put forth the Gita as an expression of spiritual knowledge. For Swami Vivekananda, the Gita has been a source of unwavering diligence and indomitable confidence," he said.

 

He also added, Gita is a book for the whole world and every creature. It has been translated into many Indian and International languages, research is being carried out in many countries by many international scholars. He also urged citizens of the country to introduce the holy text to the younger generations.
