Delhi Police arrests actor Deep Sidhu in Republic Day violence case

New Delhi, February 09: Taking the lead in the Red Fort riots case, Delhi Police has finally arrested wanted Actor-turned-activist Deep Sidhu for his role in instigating violence during the farmers’ tractor rally.Sidhu is accused of instigating the farmers as they carried out the tractor rally on the day. It should be noted that Sidhu has been wanted since the Red fort violence case that broke out on January 26.

“Deep Sidhu, an accused in 26th January violence case arrested,” Delhi Police Special Cell said on Tuesday. The investigation into the Republic Day violence is being conducted at three levels – local police, Special Cell, and Crime Branch.
 
 
 
This comes after Delhi Police declared Rs 1 lakh reward for information leading to the actor's arrest including three others Jugraj Singh, Gurjot Singh, and Gurjant Singh respectively.

This can be the major lead for the investigation. Earlier the Delhi Police had arrested three persons identified as Harpreet Singh (32), Harjeet Singh (48), and Dharmender Singh (55), all residents of Delhi, in connection with the violence. Police are now also tracing other accused involved in the violence on the basis of CCTV footage and mobile recordings.
