New Delhi, Feb 25: For the upliftment of the transgender, HIV persons, prostitutes and the allied community, the MSME DI Nagpur jointly with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Nagpur recently organized a meeting. The emphasis of the meeting was to provide administrative help to the transgender, HIV persons, and allied identified by DLSA, Nagpur, to set up their own enterprise and to become self employed and self reliant.
The objective of the programme is to create awareness amongst the transgender, HIV persons, and allied about the cluster development scheme of the Ministry of MSME and to encourage them to form a cluster by providing them with adequate skill and entrepreneurship development training. The govt plans to motivate the offbeat segments of the group to start their own small ventures by forming cluster and involve them in the socio-economic development of the country. It is planned to be a pilot project that the MSME-DI, Nagpur is to initiate in collaboration with DLSA Nagpur, in order to specifically help the Transgender, sex workers, and HIV persons and allied.
According to the latest release of the ministry, the flagship scheme of Cluster Development of the Ministry of MSME will provide help to the mentioned groups to set up Agarbatti cluster of around 100 persons, whereby the MSME-DI will guide them right from raw material procurement to selling marketing and branding of their manufactured product. It is undeniable that that to start any enterprises, skill is necessary, only then the entrepreneur can sustain in the cut throat competition and similar is the case of best quality of the products that are to be manufactured. The authorities urged Nagpur's Sarathi Trust, that works for the upliftment of transgenders, to come forward and support the innovative project by encouraging maximum people from the community.
It was decided during the meeting that as the first step of the innovative project, the MSME-DI Nagpur will organize a workshop wherein bankers will also be invited to speak on schemes and subsidies available with them for the empowerment of the concerned section of society. Besides, an Adhaar card camp will also be organized for the concerned offbeat group. It was decided that the MSME-DI, Nagpur will provide training to the prospective entrepreneurs.
