Narendra Modi spoke with the Sultan of Oman, his Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq Al Sayed, over phone on Feb 17, as the Sultan completed a year of his reign. The Sultan expressed his appreciation for the COVID 19
vaccines that India supplied to Oman. The leaders agreed to maintain close cooperation in the joint fight against the pandemic.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Sultan on completion of one year of his reign and for his Vision 2040 for Oman. The leaders expressed satisfaction about the growing India-Oman cooperation in all areas including defense, health, trade and investment. Both leaders appreciated the role of the
Indian diaspora in enhancing the economic and cultural ties between the two strategic partners.

COVID 19. Conveyed my best wishes for one year of HM the Sultan's reign and his 'Vision 2040' for Oman."
India and Oman are maritime neighbors linked by geography, history and culture, and enjoy close and friendly relations. Inspired by civilizational and historical links spanning over 5000 years, India and Oman have expanded their bilateral cooperation and exchanges since establishment of diplomatic relations in 1955, forging a mutually beneficial Strategic Partnership. India-Oman bilateral relations are anchored in their shared interests, mutual understanding and respect for each other’s priorities, concerns and sensitivities. Regular high-level visits and exchanges have been a key feature of this relationship.
