New Delhi, December 16: Noida is all set to get India’s largest heliport, which is designed for helicopter take-offs and landings, under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. The Yogi Adityanath government has given a nod to construction of this upcoming Noida heliport and the Noida Development Authority has been working on this project for the past 5 years.
The Noida Authority will set up a heliport in Sector 151 A. A tender is likely to be floated this week. Land and development rights will be given to a private agency for a time span of 30 years after the parties sign a concession agreement.
Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari confirmed the development, saying that the Noida heliport will be based on upcoming Jewar Airport. The Noida Heliport will be easily accessible to upcoming Noida International airport, and both are located near Yamuna Expressway.
The authorities intend to offer 9.35 acres of land to a private agency in Kambakshpur, to construct this heliport near the Yamuna Expressway. This modern heliport, which has a capacity to park multiple helicopters, including Mi-172, will be built at a cost of approximately Rs. 45 crores.
Salient features of the heliport: The heliport will have a 15 metre tall air traffic control system (ATC) and a parking lot where 50 cars can be parked. The helipad will be developed with 4 aprons having a capacity to book 10 helicopters, at any given time.
The regular commuters and working executives can also use the helicopter service to reach the Noida International airport in Jewar and the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. More than 500 sqm of land will be occupied to build this terminal building in such a way that about 20 passengers can be directed to the take-off site at a time.
