Taking to Twitter, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said that 'feeta jeevi' Akhilesh Yadav now wants to take credit for Kashi Vishwanath Dham. "The day is not far when Akhilesh Yadav will take credit for Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, and even the 1983 world cup. Though it's a matter of happiness that those who fired bullets on Karsevaks are now fighting to take credit of Kashi Dham," Poonawalla said.

The BJP's response came after Yadav took to Twitter and said that crores of rupees were allocated by the SP government for the acquisition of buildings for the corridor.Akhilesh alleged that the BJP government has lined up a series of programmes to herald the start of the corridor only to deflect people's attention from the PM's ‘failure’ to double the income of farmers

"Chronology of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor; Crores were allocated in the SP government. Acquisition of buildings for the corridor started in the SP government. Honorarium fixed for temple workers. 'PaidalJeevi' tells us that why the cleanliness drive of the Varuna river of the SP government was stopped and what happened to the metro?" Yadav tweeted.

It should be noted that the foundation stone of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham project was laid by Prime Minister Modi on March 8, 2019. The project was conceptualised to provide easy access for the disabled and old people with the provision of ramps, escalators, and other modern facilities.
