Palakkad, November 15: In yet another heinous attack on Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker in Kerala, the RSS worker was hacked to death in front of his wife in Kerala’s Palakkad district on Monday morning. The victim was identified as A Sanjith.
The attack was carried out by a group of SDPI (Social Democratic Party of India members) members. The 26-year-old was allegedly killed by the SDPI members when he was going on a motorcycle with his wife at 9 am. Police said Sanjith received more than 50 stab wounds. Sanjith who was seriously injured in an alleged attack by SDPI members was rushed to the hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
Coming down hard at the ruling Pinarayi Vijayan le Left Democratic government in Kerala, Palakkad BJP district president KM Haridas termed the alleged killing as a "well-planned" political murder by the SDPI. He accused the LDF government of backing SDPI.
"A Sanjith was going with his wife when he was stopped and brutally attacked. The SDPI in the state has got the ruling party's backing," Haridas alleged.
The police team reached the alleged murder spot and started an investigation. Even though Sanjith was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. The area has been cordoned off and the security beefed up.
