15 films lined up for International Competition at 52nd IFFI in Goa

Panaji, November 12: The 52nd International Film Festival of India has released the line-up of international movies for competition during the festival. Best feature-length fiction films from all over the globe are selected to compete in this section.

It is one of the most important sections of the festival that features some of the best films of the year and these 15 films compete for the Golden Peacock and other awards.
 
 
Movies that are part of the line-up include - Any Day Now (Finland), Charlotte (Paraguay), Godavari (India), Întregalde (Romania), Land of Dreams (USA), Leader (Poland), Me Vasantrao (India), Moscow Does Not Happen (Russia), No Ground Beneath The Feet (Bangladesh), Once We Were Good For You (Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina), Ring Wandering (Japan), Saving One Who Was Dead (Czech Republic), Semkhor (India), The Dorm (Russia), The First Fallen (Brazil).

All the 15 films will compete for different categories of awards such as best film (golden peacock), which carries a cash prize of Rs. 40 lakh to be shared equally between director and producer. The best director which has a silver peacock, certificate and a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh; best actor (male) and best actor (female) both of which have a silver peacock, certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakh.

Another award - a special jury award having of a silver peacock, a certificate and a cash compensation of Rs. 15 lakh will be presented to a film or an individual for their artistic contribution to a film.
