New Delhi, October 6: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registered a victory in Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) Gujarat elections by winning 41 seats out of 44 after which, PM Modi expressed gratitude towards the people saying that it has reaffirmed the deep-rooted bond between the people of Gujarat and BJP.

The PM Tweeted, “Results of the local body polls across Gujarat and Gandhinagar Municipal Corpotation reaffirm the deep-rooted bond between the people of Gujarat and BJP. Gratitude to the people for repeatedly blessing us. Kudos to all @BJP4Gujarat Karyakartas for working hard at the grassroots.”
 
 
The counting of votes for Gandhinagar civic body poll, which took place on Sunday, was done on Tuesday. A total of 162 candidates were in the up against each other for the 44 seats across 11 wards in GMC.

While addressing a press conference in their local language, the Gujarat BJP chief, CR Patil, said that this victory is proof of BJP workers' ground connect with people of their state. He said, "The voters have rejected AAP. This is a historic result for the BJP. This proves once again that Gujarat's voters have complete faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

The Gujarat State Election Commission / SEC authorities said that the polling went peacefully, without any unpleasant incidences. Earlier in the day on Tuesday, the BJP supporters could be seen celebrating as the party was leading Gandhinagar civic polls.
