Islamabad, October 5: Is Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan showing his true colours? Why didn’t he involve the parliament while in talks with Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan? Does Imran Khan have no emotions for those soldiers who sacrificed their life for his country? All these questions popped up when Pakistan PM Imran Khan stated that his government started talks with some groups of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) with the aim of having the group lay down their weapons.
The Pakistan Prime Minister faced lot of flaks as Pakistan People Party (PPP) reprimanded Imran Khan for holding talks with banned TTP, terming the move was similar to sprinkling salt on the wounds of dead soldier’s families. The party questioned why Pakistan’s Parliament was not taken into confidence over this sensitive issue. An enraged PPP stated that "Terrorism wreaked havoc in Pakistan for nearly a decade, killed nearly 80,000 civilians, policemen, soldiers, and children. What gives the PM the right to forgive the butchers so easily?”
The recent development in Afghanistan after Taliban taking over has signaled a cautious situation for Pakistan. Experts have warned Pakistan to not oversimplify the ongoing situation of Afghanistan. The recent development in Afghanistan has encouraged TTP members and they are willing to establish Pushtan rule in Pakistan.
