Rome, Oct 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on visit to Italy for G20 Summit, visited the Piazza Gandhi in Rome to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He interacted with a group of Indians there. When an excited Indian asked him "Narenda bhai, kem chho?" which means 'How are you?' in Gujarati, the PM responded, "Maja ma chho (I am fine)" with a smile.

The PM stood with folded hands as he was warmly greeted with Sanskrit sholkas. He also repeated "Om Namah Shivay" with the group. The crowd also shouted "Bharat mata ki jai." On other hand, When a man started talking in Gujarati about his work in Yoga and Ayurveda, PM Modi replied in his mother tongue.
 
PM Modi is in Italy for the two-day G-20 summit that will focus on sustainable development and climate change among other things. The theme of the meet is "People, Planet and Prosperity."
 
PM Modi earlier said that the global summit will “allow us to take stock of the current global situation and exchange ideas on how the G20 can be an engine for strengthening economic resilience and building back inclusively and sustainably from the pandemic”. He held "wonderful" talks with President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on Friday.
 
The PM will also visit the Vatican City today to call on Pope Francis and meet Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin. From Rome, he will travel to Glasgow, the UK, at the invitation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
