Lucknow, October 23: In a major development, Yogi Adityanath-led- Uttar Pradesh government has renamed the Faizabad Railway station as the Ayodhya Cantt. A notification for the official change will be issued soon be issued after getting approval from the Centre.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took the decision on Saturday, his office informed on via social media." UP CM Shri @myogiadityanath has decided to rename Faizabad railway junction as Ayodhya Cantt,” the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) informed in a tweet on Saturday.
This decision came nearly three years after the UP govt renamed the Faizabad district Ayodhya district. In November 2018, CM Adityanath had announced that Faizabad district will be known as Ayodhya.
Moreover, the government also renamed the Mughalsarai Railway station, as Deen Dayal Upadhyaya junction. The State Government had also renamed Allahabad Division as Prayagraj Division. The Allahabad Division has four districts – Allahabad, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, and Fatehpur. Further More, the Yogi Adityanath-led government had recently also renamed the Jhansi railway station after Rani Laxmi Bai.
