Chhattisgarh, October 2: As many as 12 policemen have been injured after a bus carrying them fell into a ditch in Surguja district in Chhattisgarh, on Saturday, said a police official. He added that a total of 38 police personnel were on board the bus at the time of this accident.

The bus was going from Mainpat Police Training School, Surguja to Mungeli where the police personnel were going to be deployed in view of Bhupesh Baghel, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister visit there on Sunday.
 
 
Surguja Additional Superintendent said, “The accident took place between Mainpat and Aamgaon villages in the morning.”

The driver of the bus apparently, lost his control over the vehicle while negotiating at a sharp curve - due to which the bus fell into the ditch and injured at least 12 jawans, he said.

After they were informed, a police team was rushed to the spot of the accident and the injured were shifted to a local hospital, he added. While 8 injured people were discharged after some preliminary treatment, 4 more were referred to the district hospital for further treatment, Shukla added.

The CM is to reach Mungeli on Sunday, while he was in Bemetara district on Saturday, said an official communication.
