Chennai, January 08: Ahead of the second round of the nationwide Covid-19
vaccine dry run, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan visited the session site at Government General Hospital and reviews the vaccine. While briefing about the vaccine the Minister said, "In the next few days, we should be able to give COVID-19 vaccines to our countrymen."
Appreciating the scientists and doctors for their work in the field of coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine development the ministry said "In a short time, India has done well by developing vaccines... In the next few days, in the near future, we should be able to give these vaccines to our countrymen. It will be given to our healthcare professional followed by frontline workers." Tamil Nadu Health Minister Dr. C Vijayabaskar was also present on the occasion.
He added that the government has ensured that every detail regarding
vaccination is conveyed to the people from the national level to the grassroots level. He further informed "Lakhs of healthcare workers are being trained through these dry runs, and the process to train more is still going on," Dr. Vardhan stated.
The union minister requested the NGOs working in the field of health to help in the smooth conduct of the Covid-19 vaccination program and mobilisation of beneficiaries in the best possible manner.
Besides also he also praised the Tamil Nadu government to contain the spread of the Coronavirus cases in the state; he said, 'I chose to be in Tamil Nadu today and I would like to place on record my appreciation for the govt of Tamil Nadu. Initially, we were worried about many states, including Tamil Nadu. But now it has managed to do well.'
The first round of dry run was held across the country on January 2. The second nationwide dry run on the
Covid 19 vaccination is being held today in 736 districts across 33 states and Union Territories. The dry run will also familiarise the state, district, block, and hospital-level officers on all aspects of vaccine rollout.
