WATCH 'Amethi Sangram'- Book Review with author Anant Vijay!

The Amethi Lok Sabha seat, which has always been the stronghold of Gandhi family, literally wrote a new history in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Having won this seat continuously from 2004 to 2019, Rahul Gandhi felt the heat when he lost the election from Amethi this time. Earlier this seat was held by his mother, father and uncle but in 2019 elections he lost this seat to BJP candidate Smriti Irani. This defeat of Rahul Gandhi surprised the election pundits and all the analysts. Questions arose about the existence of Gandhi family in Amethi.

 

In book 'Amethi Sangram', author Anant Vijay has analysed many aspects on how the election defeat of Rahul Gandhi in Amethi and victory of BJP candidate Smriti Irani was already noted. This book explores the political history of Amethi and the factors of Smriti Irani's victory. It is also revealed in the book that when BJP was preparing strategy for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, how did Amethi become its priority? What was the reason that Smriti Irani was brought down against Rahul Gandhi.

 

 

Regarding Amethi, Vijay has further written that it's true identity has been forgotten in the last few decades.
