R-Day Uttar Pradesh Tableau replicates Ayodhya Ram Mandir and Ramayana

New Delhi, Jan 26: The Uttar Pradesh state tableau was themed with 'Ayodhya : Cultural Heritage of Uttar Pradesh' and depicted a huge statue of Maharshi Valmiki writing Ramayana in foremost section of the tableau, followed by the replica of Ayodhya Ram Mandir. Other than the grand model of Ayodhya Ram Mandir, scenes from Ramayana and the new tradition of annual Deepotsava on the ghats of river Sarayu was also showcased through the tableau.

Ayodhya Ram Mandir was the main emphasis of the state tableau. According to the initial reports, the tableau was also to showcase Ayodhya’s religious harmony. Although the other aspects of religious harmony are not visible in the state tableau, they were covered through the state song played during the procession of the tableau.

Thus, in an innovative manner the Uttar Pradesh state tableau showcased the five Jain Tirthankars who were born in the city and the connection with Lord Buddha, who had spent six monsoons in the region. The visits of Guru Nanak and nine other Sikh gurus were also included through the song.
 
The Uttar Pradesh state tableau, by featuring a replica of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, which is currently under construction, also successfully displayed the culture, tradition and art related to the temple town.
