"Is it a sin to join politics?" asks Former Bihar DGP

Patna, Sept 25 : Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey has taken voluntary retirement from his duty as Director General of Police for the state. The official was in news for a long time, about the SSR Suicide case. And on the wake of the coming Bihar assembly elections, Pandey's voluntary retirement was a hot topic of discussion. Pandey has silenced the discussions with his statement.

 

Former DGP has retired merely five months before the completion of his tenure, which was to be completed on Feb 28, 2021. It had been it discussions since a few months back that he might accept premature retirement and launch himself as a politician. Pandey, after the acceptance of his voluntary retirement, has broke his silence and cleared the rumors by his statement.

 

He has said, " Is it a sin to join politics? What is unethical and immoral about it? Criminals reach Parliament then why can’t I think about this." With a direct hint by saying, " Gupteshwar Pandey can win from any place as an independent candidate" he went on to make it very clear about his post retirements plans and gave a break to the rumors of him to start a political career.

 

This seemed to be on Pandey's plans since a long period since, he had applied for resignation in 2009 already but took it back shortly after applied. And there are strong of possibilities of him trying to bid for ticket ever since. Recently when Pandey's batch mate also retired from his post on July 31 and joined JDU, the speculations had become much stronger that Pandey too might retire soon, considering his inclination towards politics.
