New Delhi, July 22: As the debate around the 'B-Town mafia' intensifies, writer and author of the bestselling book "Calling Sehmat" Harinder S Sikka accused the filmmaker Meghna Gulzar for changing the narrative and tampered with the original story of Alia Bhatt-starrer 'Raazi' movie which is based his book "Calling Sehmat".
While responding to the social media comments, Sikka said the ending of the movie was different from the book and, Gulzar has changed it to appease the Pakistanis.

Further, he said that in reality, Sehmat, the Indian RAW agent was brave and always believed that nothing comes before the nation. Originally, Sehmat had killed her husband in the Pakistani Army in her line of duty while collecting intelligence and escaped to return to India shortly later.
However, Meghna changed the narration in the movie and showcased that the Sehmat break down after killing him and she is shown to be having regret killing her husband as well as his in-laws. While in the book Sehmat did not come back depressed, instead of which she saluted the Indian flag, and the band played National Anthem and thanks to the motherland for having her back. She never regrates for exposing Pakistan's plan and killing her husband.

Sikka said, "With Calling Sehmat, I was sending a message that Kashmiris are not traitors. But in the film, you brought her back as a depressed person. That was a negative ending". This comes after during a Republic TV debate, he alleged that Gulzar has backstabbed him. He also revealed that he appointed Meghna Gulzar as director of Raazi contractually.
He also said "I wrote Raazi and this is proof against my name by (Meghna) Gulzar. It was written to me by the Jaipur Literature Festival. I was removed from everything, from Filmfare, my book was not allowed to be launched by Gulzar in person. "

Sikka added that he was expected to get an award for the best original story but that too ended up being blocked. He also alleged that attempts were also made to delay his book launch to ensure all the credit went to Meghna Gulzar. He also said that he regrets selecting Meghana as director.
Sikka also claimed that not just Raazi, even Meghna’s latest film Chhapaak also stole the credit from the original writer.
