New Delhi, May 7: Addressing an online video conference meeting of activists and office-bearers of Sindhu Darshan Yatra Samiti, Indresh Kumar assured that the annual Sindhu Darshan Yatra will be accomplished this year on new dates.
It may be mentioned that this Yatra which is held as a regular annual feature on June 24 every year, is being rescheduled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic threat. This unique event to pay homage to River Sindhu is started by Indresh Kumar.
On the inaugural event of this yatra veteran BJP leader, Lal Krishna Advani was present. The Sindhu Darshan Yatra Samiti has constructed Sindhu Bhavan at Leh, where the yatra is organized, for those pilgrims coming from other parts of the country.
Addressing the meeting Indresh Kumar said that the yatra is also a continuous event like the flow of the Sindhu River and would be held with new dates to be announced soon.
He asked the office-bearers to decide the new dates keeping social distancing norms in view. General Secretary of the Samiti Bhupedra Kansal discussed the plan and program of the yatra with other colleagues and activists present at the meeting.
The meeting was attended by 36 members from all over the country including Murlidhar Makhija, President of Chhattisgarh unit, Chairman of Sindhu Bhavan Trust, Leh, Radha Krishna Bhagiya, Delhi Treasurer Manoj Gogiya, Secretary Vandana Pathak, Yatra Incharge Jaikishan Gupta, Mira Tongariya, Vijay Chhelingppa from Leh, Vikram Randhawa and Satish Mittal from Jammu, Sardar Paramjeet Singh Gil, Rishi Walia from Himachal Pradesh, besides members from Rajasthan, MP, Maharashtra, and Karnataka.
