Mumbai, November 02: Taking the Drug nexus investing further, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has summoned the employees of KWAAN Talent Management Agency after Deepika Padukone's talent manager Karishma Prakash failed to appear before the NCB.
"Prakash has indeed gone untraceable after being summoned for questioning," an NCB official. Moreover, NCB also issued a notice for her summons to her mother.
According to the agency, she goes untraceable since NCB has summoned her after NCB recovered 1.7 grams of charas and some bottles of CBD oil from Karishma's Versova residence last month. She was not at home during the raid following which the agency pasted a copy of the summons on the door of Karishma's house. Another summons was issued on Wednesday, which also went unanswered.
Prakash had filed for an anticipatory bail in the special NDPS court in Mumbai which is likely to be heard on Tuesday.
As per the agency, Karishma's name had cropped up during the interrogation of alleged peddlers arrested in the investigation of the drugs case. Earlier, NCB had recorded the statements of Karishma and Deepika in the drugs probe linked to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Jaya Saha, who has termed as a ‘kingpin’, is also an employee of KWAN. She had been questioned by the Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
Besides Deepika, the NCB has also questioned Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan in connection with a drug-related case to Sushant's death. The NCB has also seized the phones of these three actors and sent them to the forensic department.
