Cultural Activities to be revived soon in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 29: The Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan said that the government is committed to revive cultural activities in the region and every effort is being made in this regard.

Khan said that the government is determined about the cultural revival in J&K and would provide every possible assistance for the revival of cultural activities. He added that since the region is opening up, after a long time in view of the pandemic, it is necessary to roll out programmes on ground for reviving the cultural activities.
 
The Advisor made these remarks while chairing a meeting at Civil Secretariat in Srinagar on Oct 28. He appreciated the efforts of the Tourism Department for the successful conduct of a 2 day festival at Pahalgam and said that it has created a good impact on the revival of tourism and cultural activities. Similar replication of such festival is necessary at other places of jammu and Kashmir as well, for effective cultural restoration after a severe lockdown.
 
The 2 day pahalgam Autumn Festival included an exhibition of village crafts drawn from the adjoining villages tapestry of cottage craft and handicrafts, cuisines, fruits and other components of village economy. Such festivals will not only prove beneficial for cultural restoration but also for rural economy of J&K.
