Tollywood celebs donate money to Telangana flood relief fund

Hyderabad, October 21: In the wake of recent rainfall in Hyderabad which created heavy havoc in the state, Tollywood stars including Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna, Prabhas announced massive contributions to the Chief Minister Relief Fund to help government support families hit by Hyderabad floods.

Veteran Tollywood actor Nagarjuna donated Rs. 50 lakh, Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi donated ₹1 crore as a contribution to the relief fund.
 
 
 
 
 
Baahubali star Prabhas Prabhas on Tuesday announced a donation of Rs 1.5 crore for relief efforts in flood-hit Telangana. In addition to him, superstar Mahesh Babu also donated ₹1 crore while Jr NTR donated ₹50 Lakhs to the Telangana CM Relief Fund. Actor Ravi Teja also made a contribution of Rs. 10 lakh towards the CM Relief Fund.
 
 
Apar from them actor and head of Jana Sena Party, Pawan Kalyan also contributed Rs 1 crore to the CM relief fund. He also urged his fans, party cadre, and everyone also to come forward and contribute to the cause. While Ravi Teja and Vijay Deverakonda contributed Rs 10 lakh each, Ram Pothineni gave away Rs 25 lakh.
 
 
The heavy rain which lashed Telangana last week killed a total of 70 people across the state and 33 people in the capital city alone. The state is devastated with heavy rainfall, areas in Hyderabad are drowned and people are going through a lot of hardships. In Hyderabad alone, the government estimates a loss of Rs 670 crore, due to the floods.
 
Minister KT Rama Rao said Hyderabad received the second-highest recorded rainfall after 1908, which forced the state government to relocate about 37,000 people from low-lying areas to relief camps. Telangana suffered an estimated loss of Rs 5,000 crore due to the recent rains triggered by the deep depression in the Bay of Bengal.
 
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced a financial package of Rs 550 crore for the flood-hit people residing in the low-lying areas. He has declared an immediate flood relief amount of Rs. 10,000 to each household affected by the Flood.
