Mandalay, September 26: Continuing the excellent performance, The Indian snooker duo of Pankaj Advani and Aditya Mehta won the IBSF World Snooker Team title at Mandalay, Myanmar yesterday. The pair beat Thailand's team comprising C. Pongsakorn and D. Poramin 5-2 in the final.
The victory in IBSF takes Advani's world title tally to a phenomenal 23 while Aditya claimed his maiden title. For Advani, this win has ensured that his name is now there on every IBSF world title on offer. He had also won the world billiards event at Mandalay last week.
Earlier in the day, the Advani-Mehta duo defeated the Thai pair of Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon and Kritsanut Lertsattayathor 4-1 in the semi-final.
"I am absolutely excited to win my first world title. All the years of hard work and struggle has finally paid off," said Mehta.
