Beijing, August 7: The prolific, charismatic and people’s most favourite minister, Sushma Swaraj breathed her last on Tuesday night suffering from a cardiac arrest. A personality that personified excellence dedication towards her nation, Sushma Swaraj was not just admired in India but also across the nation crossing boundaries. In a same, China praised the leader for her contribution in Sino-India ties as it condoled the demise of external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj.

China on Wednesday recalled her important contributions in the development of bilateral relations. The senior BJP leader passed away in New Delhi on Tuesday night after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was 67.

In a written response, Hua Chunying, Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, “Madam Sushma Swaraj is a senior Indian politician. China deeply mourns for the passing of Madam Sushma Swaraj and expresses sincere condolences to her family.”

Chinese Ambassador to India Sun Weidong in a post said, “Sad to learn about the passing away of Smt #SushmaSwaraj, former Minister of External Affairs of India. Appreciate her contributions to #China-#India relations. Express my deep condolences to her family.”

Swaraj visited China last on February 27 for the 16th meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia, India and China in Wuzhen city. She met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the meeting.
