On brinks of water crisis! Four districts of Rajasthan have only 21 days of water left

Jaipur, Jul. 24: This year Monsoon is playing games in the country. In some regions, there is water sanctity and floods in others. Same case in Rajasthan, Jaipur region and the Bisalpur dam having water for only 40 days.
 
 
 
 
Four districts of Rajasthan are all set to receive water only till August 15 as the nearby Bisalpur dam has been almost dried up. The 21 cities and 2800 villages across the districts of Jaipur, Ajmer, Dousa, and Tonk have been alerted by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) about the impending emergency-like situation.
 
The IMD data for the period July 1 to July 15 shows that the Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions in western Rajasthan have been worst hit. Bikaner division recorded 60% less than normal rainfall while Jodhpur division had 64% less rainfall. Jaipur division had 5% less than normal rainfall. Ajmer, Bharatpur, Kota, and Udaipur divisions have had excess rainfall.
 
As per the current situation, Already parched Rajasthan is on the verge of water scarcity.
 
On this issue, MLA from Ajmer and Former Education Minister, Vasudev Devnani raised the issue in the assembly. Questioning the government, Devnani said, “The water inside Bisalpur dam has almost dried up but still the government has not taken any concrete step."
 
Further, the Minister added, The condition is worst in Ajmer which receives water once in three days, the state of other districts is miserable. Therefore, I urge the government to come up with an emergency plan to tackle the problem otherwise situation will deteriorate even more.
 
According to the Groundwater Department, the groundwater level in all 33 districts in the state has touched the danger levels.
