Kashi Vishwanath Corridor on Fast Track! Construction to Begin This Month

Kashi, June 3: The much awaited Kashi Vishwanath corridor project is moving fast towards completion. The construction work of the ambitious project by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to begin this month.


 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the project in March this year and till now land acquisition, soil testing and geo-technical investigation have been completed in a record time. A total of 23 old temples were found during excavation and ground leveling work which are preserved and ready for the Darshan of devotees. Rupees 300 crores have been already spent on the project and now construction work is set to start this month. Chief Executive Officer of the Kashi Vishwanath special area development authority Vishal Singh informed the updates of the project.

Earlier last month, the project passed the legal hurdle of the Allahabad High Court, however the court rejected a number of petitions and gave green signal to the project. The government has released 250 crore rupees for purchase and dismantling of properties with an additional 25 crores for compensation. Each family with a rented home has been given 5 lakh rupees and property owners have been given financial compensation as per circle rates of the area and evaluation of the building.

 
Once completed, the congested Kashi Vishwanath premises will turn into an open and beautiful area with a lot of facilities for devotees including four big convention halls, multi-layer toilet facilities, clinics, locker room and a broad passage for Darshan along with the enhancing security arrangements.
