Ahmedabad, March 4: Spending a day long and unveiling a set of developmental projects at Jamnagar and Jaspur in Gujarat, PM Narendra Modi visited Ahmedabad inaugurating the extension to Metro Rail projects there.

 
Flagging off the Phase I of the said city metro, Modi travelled through with Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani, Minister Hardeep S Puri, Governor O P Kolhigi and Deputy CM Nitin patel. Meanwhile the spectators watching the scenario were overwhelmed and headed continuous waving to the ministers.
Addressing a gathering at Jaspur the earlier day, PM Modi said that doing something at a small scale wasn't acceptable to us and our work will always be at a large scale, benefitting all sections of society. Remembering the teachings of saints, he said, "Our saints and seers taught us to absorb the best of our past and, at the same time look ahead and keep changing with the times”.
He laid the foundation stone of Vishwa Umiya Dham Temple Complex at Jaspur saying that those who believe in Maa Umiya can never support female foeticide. “I appeal to you all- let us create a society where there is no discrimination based on gender”, he said. He also stressed on the importance of top quality education for youngsters.
Sliding at the Congress party PM Narendra Modi said, “Congress governments have fooled farmers all these years. Every 10 year, it would start crying about farmers and give dose of farm loan waivers. The debt was Rs 6 lakh crore. They waived Rs 52,000 crore and cornered all votes."
"We have decided to give Rs 6,000 to farmers every year. It will mean Rs 75,000 crore annually and this money will go to villages. A few were benefitting from loan waivers, PM Kisan Nidhi Yojana will cover 90 out of every 100 farmers”, he added.
“They (previous governments) couldn't ensure cleanliness in Kumbh Mela in 100 years. We achieved that in one year. Gujaratis who have visited the fair this year have all praised for the cleanliness there”, he said lauding the cleanliness at Prayagraj.
