Islamabad, March 19: Imagine you have been abducted and slammed in a dark place, brutally tortured, forced to convert your religion, enforced disappearances!! If this imagination gives you goose-bumps imagine the reality to be worse than a worst nightmare..!!
Hindu today, Muslim tomorrow..! Christian today, Muslim tomorrow..! This is how it goes in Pakistan where the minorities are tortured to convert their religion and pondered with several brutalities. In a heart wrenching story of Saima Iqbal, who was abducted and allegedly tortured, raped and forced to convert to Islam, the Christians in Pakistan came out in protest expressing outrage over the failure of the Pakistani authorities to deliver justice to Pakistani Saima Iqbal.
Heart wrenching story of abduction, forced conversion, Saima Iqbal slams Pakistan for giving a blind eye to atrocities on minority
Naveed Iqbal shared the ordeal of his wife by uploading a video message on social media. A day after the video went viral Iqbal managed to collect his wife from a government-run shelter for women.
Khalid Sati who abducted Saima Iqbal threatened and abducted her to forcefully convert into Islam and also tortured her brutally. The video shared signifies how harshly she was treated and beaten. Slamming Pakistan Prime Minister for his so-called promises during elections, Naveed Iqbal said, “Imran Khan during his election campaign cited numerous examples of freedom, equality, justice and fairness in the west and promised the people of Pakistan including its minority citizens that justice and fair play will reign if he is given a chance to rule the country.” Would a western democratic government have taken as long as your government has taken to give justice to Saima Iqbal, Khan asked of the Pakistani Prime Minister.
Sadly not much has changed in Pakistan where the atrocities on the minorities have scaled high leading to torture and harassment. Pakistan’s blind eye and ignorant attitude towards these atrocities have led to large protests against the government before the international organisations.
