Moscow, March 11:
Russia’s Ground Forces and the Navy’s coastal brigades are practically fully equipped with the Ratnik combat gear, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at a meeting of the State Duma (the lower house of parliament) Defense Committee on Monday. Russian researchers have developed Ratnik gear which will cover the soldier and the person will be saved from fatal attacks.

Forces that face threats directly in front of them should have covered properly to save from fatal attacks. Even Indian braveheart soldiers always take a risk while combating terrorism and attack across the Line of control. The government of India and the Defence ministry is always in favour to do the needful for our strong soldiers. Indian Minister of State for Defence Dr Subhash Bhamre has said in January this year,  that the Indian Army is expecting the delivery of its bulletproof jackets (BPJs) According to media sources, the standard for jackets and helmets used by the Indian Armed Forces is based on the US National Institute of Justice (NIJ) level III+.
The innovative Ratnik 3 combat suit contains a bevvy of armour and protective pieces from head to toe. It also includes a lower-body titanium framework designed to give the soldier more strength and stamina. Medical, reconnaissance, target-identifying and other information display on screens in the helmet. It’s even got a watch.

Ratnik 3 possesses more technological advancements in one set than entire generations of soldiers have had access to.

"Almost all Ground Forces units, as well as the Navy’s motorized rifle brigades and marine brigades - 35 units in total - have been provided with the Ratnik-2 modern combat gear," Shoigu said.

Research is currently underway to create the third generation (Ratnik-3) combat gear, which will include a helmet with an integrated control system, a combat exoskeleton, anti-mine shoes and some other elements.

The serial deliveries of the second generation "soldier of the future" Ratnik gear to the Russian Armed Forces began in 2017. It includes modern small arms, efficient protection package, reconnaissance and communication means, and is designed to operate in various weather conditions on a 24-hour basis.
