Mumbai, December 10: Trailer of one of the awaited film Chhapaak is out. The real story based movies casts Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey. Padukone will be seen essaying the role (Malti) based on the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, who also fought to instil a law against the sale of acid and chemicals at local stores.
With Chhapaak, Deepika Padukone will be also be turning a producer. The film is about the undying human spirit and complete determination. The main protagonist, Malti aka Deepika will be seen as a woman who goes through serious trials and tribulations and it will showcase the journey of her coming out as victorious in the end.
The trailer begins with a protest for Malti (played by Deepika) before the trailer gives a glimpse of Malti in the hospital soon after the attack takes place. Eventually, the trailer unfolds to show Malti's new face, her struggle to come to terms with her scarred face and her will to fight. During the course, Vikrant's activist is introduced, his stand in Malti's fight, his closeness with her and more are seen in the trailer. The trailer draws curtains with a sense of hope that her fight eventually leads to victory.
The trailer also shows how Amol (Vikrant Massey) helps her in this struggle to get the sale of acid banned. Glimpses of Amol and Malti's brewing love can also be seen in the trailer.
