New Delhi, October 31: Ahead in the celebration of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel's 144th birth anniversary marking National Unity Day as well, PM Modi inaugurated the Technology Demonstration Site in Gujarat. This is after the Prime Minister paid floral tributes to the Statue of Unity in Kevadiya district today.
He further visited the stalls by the police forces showcasing modern technologies on various themes such as aviation security, modernization of police forces.
Earlier this morning PM Modi along with MHA Shah had attended the mesmerising scenario training where the CISF jawans displayed their expertise in dealing with disastrous terrorist threats.
The authorities also flagged off the 'Run for Unity' which began from the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, observing the participation of a large number of people, including sports personalities, sports enthusiasts and personnel of central police forces among others.
National Unity day, also known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated every year on 31st of October by the people all through India. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day was introduced by the Government of India in 2014 with the aim of celebrating this event every year on 31st October.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India worked hard to make India an United India. He also requested the people of India to live together by uniting in order to create Shresth Bharat. Being the first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of India, he played a most important role in the integration of many Indian princely states to make a an Indian federation.
