“She said she could, so she did..!” Nari Shakti dazzles on Rajpath parade raising pride of India

New Delhi, January 26: “Saare jahan se accha, Hindustan humara”, rightly projecting it on the Rajpath on this 70th Republic Day, the all-women contingent of a paramilitary force showcased their incredible talent. With this, the parade on Rajpath will also exhibit many firsts in its history for the people of India making this Republic Day a proud moment for all.

 

Nari Shakti creates history!

The Assam Rifles, known as India’s oldest parliamentary force exhibited their women power which was led by Major Khushboo Kanwar. What makes the contingent so special is also the fact that some of these valiant rifle-women are vir mahilas or widows of martyred soldiers, who are continuing the legacy of their husbands.

Lt. Bhavana Kasturi leading a contingent of Army Service Corps

Another highlight of the event was by Lieutenant Bhavana Kasturi, who led a contingent of Army Service Corps (ASC) consisting of 144 men. It is after a gap of 23 years that the ASC (which handles logistics for the Army) will be a part of the parade. Lt Kasturi is a first-generation officer inducted in the Army in 2016.

Cpt Shikha Surabhi exhibits Army’s daredevils motorcycle team

This R-Day, Captain Shikha Surabhi will perform a stunt where she will stand on a moving motorcycle and ride ahead of a team of 33 men riding nine bikes in a pyramid formation. Cpt Surabhi will salute the chief guest for the parade, South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa.


 
The Indian Navy also showcased an exuberant performance as Lt. Ambika Sudhakaran led the Indian Navy's marching regime on the Rajpath parade today on Republic Day.
