Plane crash in Ghatkopar kills 5; includes 1 pedestrian and 4 onboard

Mumbai, June 28: Very shocking and sad news comes that a plane crashed in Sarvodaya Nagar of Ghatkopar which took lives of 5 including one pedestrian and four on board today. The twelve seater plane was sold by the Uttar Pradesh government to a company named UY Aviation in the year 2014.


 

DGCA team on way to Mumbai for the preliminary investigation into the plane crash, DG Civil Aviation B S Bhullar told that the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau will conduct a detailed probe into the crash.

Ghatkopar police station and fire brigade team together recovered four charred bodies. Since it is an under construction site, laborers may have been trapped under rubble.

Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu said that the DGCA has been directed to conduct an investigation into the plane crash incident.

"Saddened to hear the news about the aircraft crash in Mumbai. Have directed DGCA to conduct an investigation into the plane crash at the earliest. I'm in constant touch with on ground developments," he tweeted.
