Viacom18 Motion Pictures announces biopic on Marathi star Kashinath Ghanekar; Subodh Bhave to play the titular role

Mumbai, June 22: After donning the iconic role of Balgandharva and Lokmanya Tilak, versatile actor Subodh Bhave is all set to bring the off-screen tale of veteran actor Kashinath Ghanekar on the silver screen.
Titled as ‘Ani Kashinath Ghanekar...’ the film also stars Sonali Kulkarni and Sumeet Raghavan. The project is being helmed by Abhijeet Deshpande under the prestigious banner of Viacom18 Motion Pictures.
On June 21, makers of Kashinath Ghanekar released the first look poster of the much-anticipated biopic. The film is set to release on November 7.

The first superstar of Marathi theater, Ghanekar was a dental surgeon by profession. He rose to fame with his iconic role of Sambhaji in Vasant Kanitkar’s Marathi play “Raigadala Jevha Jaag Yete”. The maverick actor at an early age of 47 passed away due to a massive heart attack.
