There are strict rules and regulations to follow while running "Funeral Tourism Department" in India. The value of death of person from particular caste, creed or community is decided in India on the basis of place, timing, reason of the death. Retired IPS officer Prakash Singh in his May 12, 2018 article in Indian Express- "A Case Of Selective Outrage" has very appropriately focused the issue of selective outrage while dealing with deaths and rapes in the country. He criticized those who termed Kathua rape case as most deplorable incidence in India and further narrated there were numerous incidences in history which were really blot on the country. Liberal targeted him for the article.
Outraged by the selective approach on the deaths and murders of Dalit activists, Vinay Joshi says "As George Orwell observed; all animals are equal but few are more equal. Same thesis is applicable to Dalit murders, those Dalits are more "Dalit" in nature which are killed in BJP ruled states!"
The murder of dalit youth Kevin Joseph in Kerala and Bengal BJP's Dalit worker Trilochan Mahato's murder were conveniently ignored by media, intellectuals and opposition parties because it had no market value to target RSS-Modi-BJP. On the contrary champion of opposition resistance Mamta and vanguards of human and Dalit rights i.e. Communists and Christians were to blame for those murders. So, victim's Dalit identity was liability for Opposition so they thrown both incidences under carpet.
The way festivals of Sadistic Tourism were arranged after Rohit Vemula's suicide and Una Dalit flogging were really disgusting. They exploited corpse of Rohit to declare war against Hindutvavadis, They shamelessly crossed all limit of political opportunism.
The victim's Dalit idenitity only matters when it is in BJP ruled state or there is any chance to target RSS and Modi. When Dalit gets abused, killed in the hands of Communists, Congress, Christians, Muslims; the deceased person gets treated as humble animal! No outrage, no sharp reactions!
Maharashtra under Congress-NCP regime; which boastfully chants Fule-Shahu-Ambedkar mantra round the clock had Khairalanji massacre, Bihar under Laloo had numerous Dalit massacres in the hands of Ranbir Sena. But Congress-NCP- Laloo being the ostentatious champions of equality and social justice, these massacres were read as social conflicts and not as an assault on Dalits!
Thus, the inference of Kevin Joseph murder and Trilochan Mahato's hanging is loud and clear; both were humble animals neither they were Dalits nor were human beings.
Thousand of animals are slaughterd on daily basis for day to day meat consumption; but unfortunately they get no mention; only fortunate few, which are ostensibly killed on the day of religious rituals only attains status of "Kurbani", this is the bitter truth!
As George Orwell observed; all animals are equal but few are more equal. Same thesis is applicable to Dalit murders, those Dalits are more "Dalit" in nature which are killed in BJP ruled states!
After all it's political currency!
