Bypoll results are out: All parties on balanced ropes

Mumbai, May 31: Finally the bypolls are getting clear of four Lok Sabha seats and nine Assembly constituencies spread across 10 states. Counting of votes began at 8 am today and following are the results.


 

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hoisted its victory flag in Palghar Constituency (Maharashtra) of Lok Sabha seat. Whereas for the rest three seats Bhandara- Gondiya (Maharashtra), Kairana (Uttar Pradesh) and Nagaland Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) have signed their victories respectively.

For the Assembly seats, Tharali (Uttarakhand) elected BJP, Noorpur (Uttar Pradesh) has elected Samajwadi Part (SP), Shahkot (Punjab) elected Congress, Jokihat (Bihar) elected Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) won in Gomia (Jharkhand) and Silli (Jharkhand).

In Chengannur (Kerala) Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI (M)), Palus Kadegaon (Maharashtra) was won by Congress, Ampati (Meghalaya) elects Congress and Maheshtala (West Bengal) was won by All India Trinamool Congress (TMC).

The Election Commission conducted re-polling of the Lok Sabha polls due to snag in the voter verified paper audit trail (VVPAT) and electronic voting machine (EVM). The election commission announced re-polls in 73 polling stations in Uttar Pradesh's Kairana, 49 polling stations in Maharashtra's Bhandara-Gondia and one polling station in Nagaland.
