Former DGP Brij Lal to head Uttar Pradesh ’s SC/ST Commission

Lucknow, April 19: Former top cop Brij Lal is all set to head the Uttar Pradesh’s SC/ST Commission. On Wednesday, UP government appointed the former Director General of Police to oversee the affairs of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Commission in the state.
Once a close aide of BSP Chief Mayawati, Lal joined the BJP in 2015 in the presence of senior BJP leader and UP Poll in-charge Om Mathur. A 1977-batch IPS officer was known for his action against dacoits and other anti-social elements. In September 2011 he took the charge of Director General of Police. On the other hand, Yogi government All-India Ambedkar Mahasabha Chief Lalji Prasad Nirmal has been chosen for the post of UP SC/ST Financial Development Corporation.
