In the coming financial year, 1250 km roads will be constructed under Mukhya Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and 550 villages will be connected to perennial roads. For this the Department of Panchayat and Rural Development has made a provision of Rs 330 crore.
Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Gopal Bhargav said that in the year 2010, Mukhya Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana was initiated in those villages that remain deprived from being connected to asphalted roads through Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana to provide them perennial road facility.
Under this scheme 15 thousand 146 km roads have been constructed and 6897 villages have been connected. Works worth Rs 400 crore are in progress in the ongoing financial year.
